A friendship group between Kangaroo Valley and East Timor to raise funds in support of education and community
The Kangaroo Valley East Timor Friendship Group (KVETFG), previously KVRP, is an exciting non-profit partnership between two villages thousands of miles apart - one in Australia, and one in East Timor, also known as Timor Leste.
What began as group of people in Kangaroo Valley very concerned about the violence and conflicts imposed by the Indonesian military in Timor Leste in 1999/2000, flourished into a friendship between the village of Remexio and Kangaroo Valley. KVRP started in 2000 with the intention of supporting the people of Timor Leste to rebuild their country and gain self-determination, supporting education and community
We work together with our partners in Timor Leste including the original village of Remexio, supporting education and community. We do this through our fundraising events to enable students to access accommodation in Dili so that they can get a tertiary education and gain meaningful employment; through scholarships to stay in education; through important infrastructure and environmental programs, health programs and cultural exchanges.
We build small and large events year round to enable this project to continue.
We encourage the local community of Kangaroo Valley to join us for these diverse and fun fundraising events
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission.
